Mushroom Cultivation at the Autumn Harvest Festival @ Rouse Hill House and Farm

The Rouse Hill House and Farm setting is idyllic rolling hills of gorgeous pastures, lovely old farm buildings and great views. The Harvest Festival had practical demonstrations and talks from people making their own produce from cheese to eggs to fungi. Bands played, delicious food was served and friendly folk enjoyed the tours and great locally made products.

Fungi Co demonstrated how easy it is to make oyster mushroom gardens using straw, coffee, wood chips or other garden waste. Many lovely people got messy and made their own oyster mushroom bags in our interactive workshop.

Peter also discussed fungi biology and ecology and demonstrated inoculating wood logs with shiitake dowels. Thanks to everyone for coming to learn more about growing mushrooms.
