Fungalina

Last year at Fungi Co Headquarters we made Fungalina a pink oyster mushroom lady. She had been waiting in Peter's imagination for many years and so was born.

Her skirt was constructed and moulded from pink oyster mushroom inoculated substrates and simple materials and took about a month to incubate then fruit with fancy pink oyster mushrooms, Pleurotus djamor. Moss was added for the aesthetics and to create a natural feel for the piece.

She was displayed at the 2017 Canberra Expo and Old Bus Depot Markets, attracting many admiring glances because of her beauty, ecosystem, and delicious pink fleshy folds. Over time she fruited often in flushes of fungi delighting us with her living skirt of fluffy pink mycelium and moss.
